Covid Information Champion Update – 16th June 2022

Covid Information Champion Update – 16th June 2022

In this week’s newsletter, you will find information on Cervical Screening Awareness Week, a potentially life-saving test. People may have been more reluctant to come forward for this test during the pandemic, so please encourage your friends and family to get checked.

There is also the opportunity to sign up for fuel poverty or health e-learning course. The course is aimed at those wanting to identify and support those at risk in these areas. See details below.
Last week we included some information about the Weight Management Programme; this information has now been updated and you can find more information below. The NHS has now made it much easier to join the group.

Finally, if you want to make the most of the longer daylight hours you can read about Hertfordshire Health Walks.
Thank you to you all for your continued commitment and support, it is very much appreciated.

Cervical Screening Awareness Week

Cervical Screening Awareness Week (20 – 26 June)
We’re supporting Jo’s Cervical Cancer Trust because we want you to have all the facts about this potentially life-saving test. Did you know almost one in three women and people with a cervix don’t take up their invite? We want to change that, and you can help! It’s simple, share your tips, and experiences and help break down some of the confusion and anxiety that exists around the test.

Learning

Fuel Poverty and Health E-Learning Course
The impacts of fuel poverty on health can be severe; this course is designed for anyone wanting to learn more about fuel poverty and its links with physical and mental wellbeing.

Learners will be taught how to identify those who are likely to be at risk from fuel poverty and signpost them to assistance.
Fully funded places are available to non-commercial organisations based in England. Learners must be frontline staff or volunteers that encounter and provide advice to those in or at risk of fuel poverty.
